Designs w/ character

Reclaimed Space Homes feature four primary material types for the interior and exterior of the units.  They are combined throughout each unit to create texture and historical character.

Large planks of Barnwood

Shiplap , usually longleaf pine

Hardwoods including oak, pine, walnut, cedar, and mesquite or a combination

Various metal types; primarily corrugated, copper, tin, galvanized, pressed patterned, painted, or oxidized

Handmade furniture out of Reclaimed materials

Vintage bathrooms with clawfoot tubs or modern styles, even outdoor showers

All of these materials are carefully cultivated from our deconstruction projects and selectively placed in our new homes. The result is homes rich in texture with character in every wall.   The incredible old growth grains along with the texture of the juxtaposed materials create art in every wall. The wood still contains its historical saw marks, weathering and color variations from its past lives. The metals are patina’d, oxidized, or painted. The hardwood floors show scoring and wear patterns with optional old world fixtures.  We make sure each space is unique in both look and character, turning imperfections into places of beauty and warmth.

We begin with beautiful materials and then incorporate them into beautiful designs: open floorplans bathed in natural light, pitched roofs that create a larger feel, and textures that are irresistable. The design complements the materials and vice versa, each showcasing the beauty and quality of the other.
